Pops of Color - In a Neutral World

Updated: Mar 13

Let's continue our conversation about COLOR!!! Yes, I'm sticking to the theory that color makes everything better! In a world of neutrals, color adds personality and just pure joy to any space big or small. One of the easiest ways is organic color. We've talked about florals, but something else is just as amazing for a quick, easy, and dare I say cheap way to add color. Yes, fruit and vegetables! What???.... fruit and vegetables are to eat not to decorate, you might say. I'm here to tell you both are true. Now, I love myself a good salad or a nice piece of fruit on a summer day, but I also appreciate the beauty of these foods as well. One of the easiest ways to incorporate fruit and vegetables is to stack them in a vase for a shelf or on a counter or in a beautiful glass bowl for the center of a dining table. Let's not forget, that they make an amazing centerpiece for an elegant dinner table as well! For now, let's just start with the tall glass vase or beautiful bowl. Pick your passion. Match the colors and find your perfect place. For fruits- citrus is great because it will stay fresh quite a while on a shelf. Citrus colors are also easy to match up. Think... grapefruits, lemons, limes and oranges. All these colors complement each other quite well. If your opting for veggies thinks about mixing bell peppers big and small with jalapenos, or maybe these standalone veggies like artichokes and carrots. Artichokes are a unique and fun showpiece because they have a cool natural texture and design. They also look great in a living room space on a coffee table as a show piece. Carrots are fun because they can be made into a bouquet, just like flowers. Whatever you choose, it will add a nice pop of color and become a nice interest piece for your home. This is just another way to add meaningful creations to any space. Have fun!
